Kota Tinggi district is the closest major Johor town to the Endau-Rompin forest complex, giving its oil-palm, rubber, and fruit farms real elephant exposure alongside wild boar and monkey pressure.
Kota Tinggi is Johor's largest district by land area and sits closest to the Endau-Rompin forest complex among the state's major towns, which means genuine elephant incursions affect oil-palm and fruit plots nearest the forest boundary — not just the wild boar and monkey pressure found statewide. Rubber smallholdings in the district's more forested stretches also see occasional elephant contact.
Farms well within the town's more developed and coastal-adjacent areas (including toward Desaru) mostly need standard wild-boar/monkey-rated fencing. Plots closer to the forest boundary — nearer Kahang and Endau — need elephant-rated systems with higher-joule energizers and reinforced posts, reviewed by our team before install.
