Product Description
StarLite S20 2.0J Premium Electric Fence Energizer
Reliable 2.0J Power. Built-In Monitoring. Designed for Modern Farm Protection.
The StarLite S20 is a premium 2.0 Joule electric fence energizer designed for farms, orchards, plantations and livestock applications where reliable performance and easier system monitoring are important.
Delivering up to 12–14kV peak output voltage, the S20 combines strong high-voltage pulse performance with short-circuit detection, built-in alarm, LED status indication and an IP55 weather-resistant enclosure.
Supporting 12V DC battery and solar-powered installations, the StarLite S20 is an excellent choice for both permanent and off-grid agricultural electric fence systems.
⚡ 2.0 Joule Output Energy
The StarLite S20 delivers a maximum pulse output energy of 2.0 Joules, providing a practical balance between electric fence performance and power consumption.
It is suitable for properly designed small to medium electric fence systems including:
Farms and orchards
Oil palm plantations
Crop protection
Livestock containment
Wildlife deterrence
Multi-wire agricultural fencing
Rather than selecting an energizer based only on land acreage, the correct model should be determined according to total fence length, number of wires, vegetation, grounding quality and electrical leakage.
Why it helps
Designed for electric-fence security and livestock management.
Supports farm, pasture and wildlife-fence applications.
Alarm or monitoring functions help identify fence issues where fitted.

Power Source
AC Mains Via Included Adapter, 12 V DC Battery, Solar Compatible With 12 V Battery And Charge Controller
The S20 produces a 12–14kV peak high-voltage pulse with a normal pulse interval of approximately 1 second.
This high-voltage pulse travels through the live fence conductor and creates an effective deterrent when an animal contacts a correctly installed electric fence.
Actual voltage measured along the fence will depend on the complete system, including conductor resistance, vegetation, grounding and electrical leakage.
🚨 Built-In Short-Circuit Alarm
One of the key advantages of the StarLite S20 is its short-circuit monitoring and alarm function.
The system continuously monitors fence operation. Abnormal conditions or excessive loading can trigger an alert, helping users identify potential problems with the electric fence.
Possible causes may include:
Live wire touching the ground
Heavy vegetation contacting the fence
Damaged or failed insulators
Incorrect fence connections
Excessive electrical leakage
Short circuit within the fence system
This provides an additional layer of monitoring compared with conventional basic electric fence energizers.
💡 Clear Operating Indicators
The StarLite S20 features easy-to-see indicators that allow users to quickly check the energizer's operating condition.
Depending on the product configuration, the monitoring interface provides information for:
Power status
Energizer operating status
High-voltage pulse/output indication
Alarm condition
This makes routine farm inspection easier because users can quickly identify whether the energizer and fence are operating normally.
☀️ Optimised for Solar Electric Fence Systems
The StarLite S20 is particularly suitable for remote agricultural locations where mains electricity is unavailable.
For a pure solar-powered S20 installation, the recommended reference configuration is:
50W Solar Panel + 30Ah 12V Battery + 5A PWM Solar Charge Controller
Typical connection:
Solar Panel → Charge Controller → 12V Battery → StarLite S20 → Electric Fence
Actual solar and battery sizing may be increased depending on local sunlight conditions, required backup duration and installation requirements.
🔋 12V DC Power Supply
The StarLite S20 operates from a DC 12V / 2A power supply, making it suitable for battery-based electric fence installations.
This allows the energizer to be used in locations where normal mains electricity is unavailable and provides straightforward integration with an appropriately designed solar system.
🌧️ IP55 Weather-Resistant Design
The StarLite S20 uses an ABS engineering-plastic enclosure with IP55 protection, allowing it to withstand typical outdoor agricultural environments.
The enclosure provides protection against dust and water exposure and can be installed outdoors.
For better long-term reliability, we still recommend installing any electronic high-voltage equipment in a protected location or under a suitable rain cover whenever practical.
🐗 Suitable Applications
When incorporated into a correctly designed electric fence, the StarLite S20 can be used for:
Wild Boar / Babi Hutan
Monkey / Monyet
Cattle / Lembu
Goat / Kambing
Sheep / Biri-biri
Livestock containment
Orchard protection
Vegetable and crop farms
Oil palm plantations
General agricultural perimeter protection
The appropriate number and height of fence wires should be selected according to the target animal.
📏 Fence Distance
The 2.0J reference platform is rated for a maximum fence length of up to 20km under suitable conditions.
However, maximum theoretical fence length should not be treated as the recommended distance for every installation.
Real-world performance is affected by:
Vegetation • Number of Wires • Grounding • Conductor Resistance • Soil Conditions • Connections • Electrical Leakage
A shorter fence with heavy vegetation can place a greater electrical load on an energizer than a considerably longer, clean and properly insulated fence.
For this reason, StarLite recommends selecting the energizer based on the actual installation rather than distance alone.
🌍 Proper Grounding Is Essential
Grounding is one of the most important parts of any electric fence.
The StarLite S20 requires a reliable grounding system to allow the high-voltage pulse to complete its electrical circuit when an animal contacts the live conductor.
Poor grounding can significantly reduce fence performance regardless of the energizer's Joule rating.
For best results:
Install sufficient grounding rods
Use suitable high-voltage lead-out cable
Keep electrical connections secure
Minimize vegetation contacting live wires
Check insulators periodically
Regularly test fence voltage
Install suitable lightning protection
For the energizer system, the technical manual specifies a target grounding resistance of ≤10Ω.
*Maximum fence length is based on the reference 2.0J platform under suitable conditions. Actual usable fence length depends on fence design, vegetation, conductor resistance, grounding and electrical leakage.
⭐ Why Choose StarLite S20?
The StarLite S20 is designed for users who want more than a basic electric fence energizer.
Its combination of 2.0J output, 12–14kV peak voltage, short-circuit monitoring, alarm indication, IP55 enclosure and solar compatibility provides a dependable electric fence solution for modern agricultural applications.
It is especially suitable for farmers who want:
Reliable 2.0J electric fence performance
High 12–14kV peak output
Built-in fault monitoring
Short-circuit alarm
Outdoor-ready IP55 construction
12V battery operation
Solar compatibility
Simple operation and maintenance
⚠️ Important
Joule rating and maximum distance alone do not determine electric fence performance.
Actual effectiveness depends on the complete system:
A properly installed and maintained 2J system can provide excellent performance, while even a much larger energizer will perform poorly when connected to an improperly grounded or heavily leaking fence.
